The Washington Post Young Journalists Development Program (YJDP) is excited to announce the continuation of its long-established partnership with the National Capital Area Cappies critics and awards program. Through this program, and under the guidance of skilled Cappies mentors, high school theater and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in student and community newspapers across the Washington area in addition to the Community Relations section of washingtonpost.com at www.washingtonpost.com/community-relations/young-journalists.
This year, one deserving student critic will also have the distinct honor of being the first recipient of 'The Washington Post Outstanding Student Critic Award' which is presented to the student critic that has the most reviews selected to run in the Community Relations section of washingtonpost.com. The winner will be chosen automatically by The Cappies Information System (CIS).

| This year's Cappies gala will be held on Sunday, June 10, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall at 7 p.m. TICKETS ARE $35 AND EVERYONE MUST BUY A TICKET INCLUDING NOMINEES. Comps will go to: Cappies Dancers and Singers, as well as orchestra...who sit on stage. These three groups ONLY will be allowed to purchase up to TWO tickets for family members. |
